Subject G Solar Arc Directions

Here we have the directed chart of Subject G, winner of only $50,000. We don’t have a new sign on the Ascendant, but in just 16 minutes, 00 Capricorn 00, an Aries Point, will appear on the Midheaven. Directed Mercury conjuncted the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 22 Libra 35. The Prenatal Eclipse also received a sextile from Jupiter, ruler of the Midheaven and ancient ruler of the Ascendant.

Comparing the solar arc directed chart to the natal chart of Subject G, we see Capricorn on the natal Ascendant and find directed Saturn in the 1st house. Saturn trined natal Mars in the 5th house of risks and gambles and made an inconjunct to natal Pluto. Mars and Pluto co-ruled the natal Midheaven. Saturn also separated from an opposition with the natal Sun, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries, and applied to a trine with the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 22 Libra 35. And that’s where our usual method may bite the dust, as it seems this chart was going to have us hopping, skipping and jumping all over the place.

Scorpio was on the Midheaven, so there were two rulers, which we just established through our view of Saturn. Directed Mars made a sextile to natal Venus in the 8th house of lotteries, and an inconjunct to natal Saturn, the chart ruler. There’s nothing very important there. However, Pluto was a whole different story. Directed Pluto, planet of wealth and transformation conjuncted natal Neptune in the 8th house of lotteries. Neptune ruled Pisces, intercepted in the 2nd house of money and resources. Pluto also opposed the natal Moon in the 2nd house of money. Directed Pluto also trined natal Saturn, the chart ruler.

So we have arrived at Saturn again, which along with Uranus and Neptune, ruled the 2nd house of money. Directed Uranus didn’t do much in this chart; it only made a sextile to natal Transpluto of payoffs, and a square to the natal Vertex date with destiny, although we might consider an out-of-sign square to natal Neptune. Directed Neptune, however, did quite a bit:

  • It opposed natal Uranus, which the directed Moon conjuncted.
  • It trined natal Mars, co-ruler of the Midheaven, in the 5th house of risks and gambles.
  • It squared natal Pluto, the primary co-ruler of the Midheaven.
  • It sextiled the natal Sun, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries.
Then we arrive at the 5th house of risks and gambles, which Mercury ruled. It was also a co-ruler of the 8th house of lotteries because Virgo was intercepted there. Directed Mercury had recently conjuncted the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 22 Libra 35, and then conjuncted the south end of the nodal axis, triggering a turning point in the winner’s life. In exchange, the directed nodal axis at 09 Gemini and Sagittarius, squared the natal Mercury, which occupied the 8th house of lotteries. Directed Transpluto conjuncted it. Directed Mercury also squared natal Transpluto and sextiled the Vertex date with destiny, both in the 7th house, and imposed an adjustment or compromise on the winner through an inconjunct to the East Point in the 1st house.

The Sun also ruled the 8th house of lotteries, and the directed Sun conjuncted Venus. Directed Venus conjuncted the natal Midheaven. If this triggers a déjà vu, you might check back to the secondary progressions of Subject G’s chart. Directed Chiron, of rewards and crowning achievements, squared natal Venus.

Another aspect directed Chiron made was a sextile to natal Neptune, co-ruler of the 2nd house of money, just inside the 8th house of lotteries. In addition, Chiron trined the natal Moon in the 2nd house of money, and then the directed Ascendant came along and conjuncted the Moon, a timing device in this chart that declares You. Here. Now.

We’re not finished going around the winning houses yet. Jupiter ruled the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks. Directed Jupiter conjuncted the Vertex date with destiny at the cusp of the 8th house of lotteries, while the directed Vertex squared the natal Jupiter. Directed Jupiter also sextiled and trined the natal nodal axis.

The directed Part of Fortune trined the natal Ascendant. Last but not least, the directed Midheaven just entered the 12th house of charity, seclusion and hiding out.

And now the transits to the directed chart:

As usual, let’s begin with the chart ruler, in this case, Neptune, because Pisces rose on the directed Ascendant. Transiting Neptune was found conjuncting the reaping South Node. It also sextiled the directed Vertex date with destiny and squared directed Transpluto of payoffs.

Jupiter ruled the directed Midheaven, which was about to change signs and hit an Aries Point, signaling a new phase in life. Transiting Jupiter was found moving through the 2nd house of money, where it trined its own place in the directed chart, and opposed directed Mercury in the 8th house of lotteries.

Mars ruled the 2nd house of money and made several aspects, but the most important was the trine to natal Saturn, ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks. Transiting Saturn, in turn, conjuncted directed Mars in the 5th house of risks and gambles. Besides the trine to Saturn, Mars made a wide sextile to directed Jupiter, ruler of the Midheaven; squared the directed Part of Fortune; and separated from a trine to Neptune, the chart ruler.

The Moon ruled the 5th house of risks and gambles. The transiting Moon conjuncted the Ascendant and squared the directed Moon’s Nodes, marking a turning point or milestone. It also opposed the directed Transpluto of payoffs.

Lovely Venus ruled the 8th house of lotteries. Transiting Venus conjuncted directed Jupiter, ruler of the Midheaven. Venus and Jupiter are always sweet together. Venus also made a wide trine to the Midheaven.

As mentioned earlier, Saturn ruled the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks, and conjuncted directed Mars. It also sextiled the natal Sun.

Transiting Uranus was helpful in many ways. It made a wide trine to the directed Ascendant; a trine to directed Chiron of rare opportunities and triumphant ascendancy; square to directed Mars, ruler of the 2nd house; sextile to directed Pluto of transformation through wealth; sextiled the Midheaven / trined the Nadir.

Transiting Pluto, planet of wealth, conjuncted the natal Vertex date with destiny, and the transiting Vertex date with destiny conjuncted the directed Sun while it sextiled directed Mars, ruler of the 2nd house of money.

The transiting Nodes, marking milestones and turning points, squared directed Jupiter, planet of bigger, better and more, ruler of the Midheaven, reputation and path in life.

Transiting Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and crowning achievements, trined the directed Midheaven.

Transiting Transpluto of payoffs trined the directed Moon in the 2nd house of money and resources, ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles; and sextiled directed Neptune, chart ruler in the 8th house of lotteries.

The transiting Part of Fortune conjuncted the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 22 Libra 35 in the directed 8th house of lotteries.
