Subject D Tertiary Progressions

The tertiary progressed chart of Subject D, for the time of her $13 million dollar win, had a new sign on the Midheaven, indicating a new path in life. The Moon’s Nodes squaring the Midheaven showed the importance of this turning point in her life.

Uranus, the ruler of the Midheaven, was in mutual reception with Mercury, ruler of the 2nd house of money, as well as the 5th house of risks and gambles. Mercury trined Neptune, ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks, which has just retrograded back into the 5th house. Jupiter, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries, squared Neptune.
The Vertex date with destiny trined the Sun, and the Sun trined the Ascendant and the Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 28 Taurus 42. The Sun wasn’t quite conjunct the Midheaven, but was just before it, an area of the chart that’s like the sweet spot on a bat. Be sure not to overlook it in your own charts.

Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and crowning achievements, trined Transpluto of payoffs.

The Part of Fortune at the cusp of the 8th house, conjuncted the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 12 Sagittarius 22, trined the conjunction of the Moon with Pluto to create powerful emotions, and sextiled Mercury, ruler of the 2nd and 5th houses.

Venus, the chart ruler, trined the East Point, which represents personal things that take place in public, or capture the imagination of the public.

When we compare the tertiary chart to the natal chart of Subject D above, we find Chiron, representing once-in-a-lifetime events and crowning achievements, conjunct the Ascendant, the same as when we compared the tertiary chart to the natal chart of Subject B. However, in Subject D’s charts, tertiary Chiron also trined the natal Transpluto conjunction with the Part of Fortune in the 8th house of lotteries.

Just below the Ascendant, the tertiary Part of Fortune conjuncted the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 12 Sagittarius 22, which we spotted in the single wheel tertiary chart. The Part of Fortune also squared the natal Sun conjunction with Venus. Venus ruled the 11th house of lucky breaks.

Another thing the tertiary Part of Fortune did was to create a yod with the natal Moon, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries, in sextile with natal Mars, ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles. Arriving at the apex, the Part of Fortune made inconjunct aspects to both.

Jupiter was the chart ruler. Found in the 2nd house of money, tertiary Jupiter made a number of winning aspects:
  • It trined the natal Sun.
  • Trined natal Venus, ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks.
  • Opposed Mars in the 8th house of lotteries, ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles.
  • Trined the natal Moon, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries.

Tertiary Saturn, ruler of the 2nd house of money, sextiled natal Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and well-deserved rewards, in the 11th house of lucky breaks.

Mars ruled the 5th house of risks and gambles. Tertiary Mars squared the natal Moon, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries; opposed natal Pluto in the 8th house of lotteries; trined natal Neptune in the 10th house of public recognition; and sextiled the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 12 Sagittarius 22.

The Moon ruled the 8th house of lotteries, and this was “the clincher,” as they say. The tertiary Moon conjuncted tertiary Pluto, planet of filthy dirty rich. Together, they conjuncted the natal Saturn, ruler of the 2nd house of money.

Venus ruled the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks. Tertiary Venus sextiled natal Chiron of triumphant ascendancy and rare opportunities in the 11th house.

Uranus conjuncted its own place, but not exactly, and it neither occupied nor ruled a winning house or angle. It’s hard to know if it had any bearing on the win, other than the fact that it is Uranus, one of the lucky planets. It also didn’t hurt that it received a trine from the tertiary Vertex date with destiny and also the tertiary Sun. Both of them occupied winning houses.

The tertiary Moon’s Nodes in the money signs squared the natal Part of Fortune in the 8th house of lotteries. The tertiary Ascendant conjuncted the natal North Node.

The tertiary East Point, of personal matters that take place in public, or attract public attention, opposed natal Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and rewards, in the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks, and squared natal Transpluto of payoffs in the 8th house of lotteries.

Comparing the winning transits to the tertiary progressions:

In the transits to Subject D’s tertiary progressed chart, boom! The transiting Midheaven conjuncted the Ascendant. That spinning roulette ball rattled into just the right slot at just the right time. When looking for winning transits in your own charts, don’t overlook where these fast-moving timers will be at the moment of the drawing. Don’t worry about where they will be when you think you might learn whether or not you won. You can see that hasn’t been the case in any of these charts; all transit charts were cast for the time of the drawing. If we check the other fast-movers, we see
  • The transiting Ascendant squared the Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 28 Taurus 42 and trined the tertiary North Node;
  • The transiting Vertex conjuncted the tertiary Sun and trined the Ascendant;
  • The transiting Part of Fortune squared the Ascendant / Descendant axis;
  • And the transiting East Point just passed the Moon / Transpluto conjunction.

Not a partile aspect? According to all the charts in this book, a two or three degree orb seemed to be just fine. It does appear to be the case, though, that the more aspects there are, and the closer they are, the more money was won. Now let’s head back to the tertiary Ascendant.

The transiting Moon’s Nodes spanned the tertiary Ascendant / Descendant axis, and the North Node conjuncted the Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 28 Taurus 42. Just below the Ascendant, transiting Chiron opposed its own place in the tertiary chart, and sextiled the tertiary Transpluto for the payoff.

Taurus, a money sign, rose on the Ascendant, making Venus the chart ruler, and finally, Venus helped out after a weak showing in both the stand-alone tertiary progressed chart and the tertiary progressed chart aspecting the natal wheel. By transit, Venus conjuncted tertiary Mercury, ruler of the 2nd house of money and resources, and the 5th house of risks and gambles. It also trined tertiary Neptune, ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks in the 5th house. Of course, it opposed the tertiary Moon / Pluto conjunction, but as neither of them occupied nor ruled a winning house, it’s hard to know whether or not it was relevant.

Ruler of both the 2nd and 5th houses, transiting Mercury conjuncted transiting Uranus, planet of surprises and plot twists, which was also a co-ruler of the Midheaven. Together they conjuncted the tertiary Part of Fortune at the cusp of the 8th house of lotteries. It’s most noticeable in this chart how small the 2nd and 8th houses were, and how large the 5th and 11th were. Don’t forget that the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse was also right there at 12 Sagittarius 22, conjunct the tertiary Part of Fortune. Transiting Mercury and Uranus sextiled Mercury’s tertiary position in the 10th house of public notice, and trined the tertiary conjunction of the Moon and Pluto.

The other co-ruler of the Midheaven, Saturn, conjuncted the Descendant. That’s not something we want to see when we’re reading transits to our natal charts, but in lottery astrology it’s fine, depending upon which house or houses Saturn rules. We don’t know; maybe the freedom of money allowed the winner to end a bad marriage or she had jealous frenemies. Notice how transiting Pluto opposed the tertiary East Point in the 12th house. Additionally, it sextiled tertiary Venus, the chart ruler.

Transiting Jupiter, emissary for the 8th house, made a wide but effective trine to the tertiary Ascendant. If we allow one more degree in the orb, then it squared the tertiary Vertex date with destiny.

Neptune, the planet of dreams that do come true, ruled the 11th house of lucky breaks. Transiting Neptune conjuncted the transiting Sun and together they conjuncted tertiary Venus, the chart ruler in the 8th house of lotteries. They squared the tertiary Moon’s Nodes, milestone turning points in life.

Now a couple of orphans:

Mars transited through the 10th house of public recognition, where it trined tertiary Uranus, ruler of the Midheaven, in the 2nd house of money and resources.

The transiting Moon had just left the 8th house and applied to a conjunction with tertiary Jupiter, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries. Jupiter also co-ruled the 11th house of lucky breaks.
