Subject C’s tertiary progressions made such an interesting chart.
Upon first glance, we see a stellium at the Midheaven that included
the Part of Fortune; Pluto, ruler of the 2nd house of
money; Transpluto of payoffs; and the South Node of reaping karma.
While Pluto conjuncted the Midheaven, it squared the East Point, a
double aspect of gaining the public’s attention. It also squared
Uranus, ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles.
The Sun, ruler of
the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks, conjuncted
the Ascendant. It squared the Midheaven as well as the Moon, ruler of
the Midheaven, which conjuncted the Nadir. It also trined Saturn at
the cusp of the 5th house of risks and gambles.
The chart ruler,
Venus, rose and was also the ruler of the 8th house of
lotteries. It was the final dispositor of this chart.
Mars and Pluto were the rulers of the 2nd house of money and resources. We already know Pluto conjuncted the Midheaven, squaring the East Point and Uranus. Mars occupied the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks, and trined Uranus, ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles. Uranus (shocks and sudden changes of fortune) opposed Jupiter (bigger, better, more).
Just that quickly
we’ve covered the rulers of each winning house.
The Part of Fortune
not only conjuncted the Midheaven, both trined the Prenatal Lunar
Eclipse at 21 Pisces 49.
Chiron, of
triumphant ascendancy and rewards, squared the
Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 08 Virgo 10.
Anonymous Subject C
has one of the most outstanding natal charts anyone could hope for,
and it’s easy to see how the tertiary progressions hit it just
right for a $21 million dollar win.
Tertiary Jupiter and
tertiary Uranus opposed each other right across the natal Ascendant /
Descendant axis. You just can’t get much luckier than that, unless
Jupiter also happened to conjunct the natal Part of Fortune at the
Ascendant at the exact same time that the tertiary Vertex date with destiny
trined natal Jupiter and it ruled the 2nd house of money and resources.
- Or the tertiary South Node of reaping karma happened to conjunct the natal Midheaven. Or that same South Node was part of a powerhouse stellium like the one that comprises the most elevated planets in these progressions.
- The number of winning aspects in this chart comes at us like a freight train. Let’s start over at the Ascendant so we don’t get run down.
The Ascendant has two co-rulers, Mars and Pluto. Tertiary Pluto, which represents filthy dirty rich, conjuncted natal Transpluto, which represents payoffs. It also opposed natal Saturn, an aspect which no one in his right mind would look at in a chart and think something good could come of it. And yet, there it was, and we know for a fact that Subject C did win.
Just as baffling was the detail that tertiary Saturn opposed natal Mars, the other chart ruler. We don’t know and will probably never know what this aspect combination did in the life of Subject C. But we know what it didn’t do: it didn’t prevent him or her from winning! So the lesson that comes from this is that if there are other challenging aspects in your chart that you think are winners, buy a ticket anyway. Before we move away from Pluto, we’ll note that the transiting Midheaven, one of those timing devices that’s like the spinning ball in a roulette wheel dropping into just the right slot, conjuncted natal Pluto, trined the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 21 Pisces 49, and trined natal Mercury, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries and the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks. Also, tertiary Pluto and Transpluto sextiled natal Chiron of triumphant ascendancy and well-earned rewards.
With Sagittarius on the Ascendant, tertiary Jupiter represented the 2nd house of money and resources. We already know it conjuncted the natal Ascendant, Part of Fortune, and the Moon and Sun, too. The Sun ruled the Midheaven.
The tertiary Moon
squared natal Uranus, planet of shocks, surprises and sudden changes,
and the tertiary Ascendant opposed it.
Pisces was on the
cusp of the 5th house of risks and gambles, making Neptune
the ruler. Found in the 11th house of plot twists and
lucky breaks, Neptune conjuncted the natal South Node, and Jupiter,
ruler of the 2nd house of money.
Because Mercury
ruled both the 8th house of lotteries and 11th
house of lucky breaks, we can handle them at the same time. Tertiary
Mercury in the 1st house trined the natal North Node in
the 5th house of risks and gambles by only three minutes
of difference. It also sextiled the natal Jupiter / South Node
conjunction in the 11th house.
Tertiary Chiron, of
triumphant ascendancy and crowning achievements, in the 8th
house of lotteries, squared natal Neptune, ruler of the 5th
house of risks and gambles in the 11th of lucky breaks, as
well as the Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 08 Virgo 10. Did it also
conjunct the Vertex date with destiny in the 8th house?
There’s roughly three degrees difference, but Chiron was
retrograde, so maybe. There are so many other spectacular winning
aspects that it would be superfluous.
In the transits to the tertiary chart of Subject C, we find the
transiting Moon's Nodes, which mark turning points and milestones, conjunct the tertiary Jupiter / Uranus opposition
that spanned the Ascendant / Descendant axis in the previous chart.
The transiting Ascendant —You. Here. Now.— was just inside
the cusp of the 2nd house of money:
Transiting Mars, a
co-ruler of the 2nd house of money and resources,
conjuncted the tertiary Moon, ruler of the Midheaven, and opposed the
Midheaven itself, to the minute. It also opposed the tertiary
Part of Fortune. Transiting Pluto, planet of wealth, power and total
transformation, squared the natal Moon’s Nodes, triggering a turning
point or milestone.
The transiting Moon
trined the tertiary Ascendant, and squared the tertiary Vertex date
with destiny at the cusp of the 8th house of lotteries.
Transiting Uranus,
ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles, sextiled the
tertiary Ascendant and the tertiary Saturn, which was just inside the
cusp of the 5th house of risks and gambles.
Transiting Jupiter,
just leaving the 5th house, trined the tertiary Part of
Fortune at the Midheaven and conjuncted the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at
21 Pisces 49.
The transiting Sun,
ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks,
was in the 8th house of lotteries, where it
While our focus is in the 8th house, transiting Chiron conjuncted transiting Mercury there. Together, they squared tertiary Neptune in the 11th house, but more importantly, they trined tertiary Venus, the rising star of the tertiary chart, the chart ruler, final dispositor, and the ruler of the 8th house of lotteries. Transiting Venus, the chart ruler, sextiled tertiary Neptune, which has the ability to make dreams come true.
- Conjuncted tertiary Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy.
- Sextiled and trined the natal Moon’s Nodes, to help create the milestone or turning point.
