The harmonic chart of Subject F is somewhat unusual. The Moon square
to Mars was the only aspect between planets that measured less
than one degree. At just six minutes of orb, it was the closest. The
Moon, which ruled the Nadir, occupied the 8th house of
lotteries, and Mars, the chart ruler and co-ruler off the 8th
house of lotteries, occupied the 11th house of plot twists
and lucky breaks. The Moon also sextiled Saturn, ruler and occupant of the 10th house of public acknowledgment.
Venus ruled the 2nd
house of money and conjuncted the floating Midheaven, which directs
public attention to a particular area of one’s life, or makes
important alterations to that area. In this case, the 4th
house of home, family and domestic matters held the duo. If the birth
time is off by only a few minutes, the floating Midheaven can end up
“in the wrong place,” or there might be extenuating
circumstances, as there were for the previous Subject E. Sometimes
the position makes more sense when we see it compared to the natal
chart, or see the transits to the harmonic. The floating Midheaven in
this case was one minute shy of 28 Cancer, and Venus was just four
minutes shy of 00 Leo, which trined the Moon—again, ruler of the
4th house in the 8th house of lotteries. This
harmonic chart had a majority of planets and points in cardinal signs
and water elements, which gave it a Cancer signature, so we should be
sensing a trend. Let’s be patient, and wait to see what we learn.
The Sun ruled the
5th house of risks and gambles. It sextiled Transpluto of
payoffs in the 2nd house of money.
The 8th
house of lotteries had Scorpio on the cusp, and therefore, two
rulers. We’ve already delineated Mars because it was also the
Ascendant ruler. Pluto, the primary ruler of Scorpio, trined the
Ascendant and South Node of reaping karma, and opposed Transpluto of
payoffs. It also sextiled Mercury at the Descendant, but Mercury
neither ruled nor occupied a winning house.
Saturn, ruler of the
static Midheaven, conjuncted the Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 4 Aquarius
33. In mutual reception with Uranus, Saturn was at the crux of a
T-square consisting of the Vertex date with destiny and Neptune.
Saturn in square with Neptune is an aspect that can make us feel like
the sands of stability are shifting under our feet. However, in this
chart, as in other winning charts, Neptune ruled the 12th
house of other realms, and the Sun, ruler of the 5th house
of risks and gambles, occupied it. Maybe he, too, had a hunch to buy
a ticket then, but that’s just an educated guess; wish we could ask
him. Saturn made one final aspect: a trine to the East Point, which
attracts public attention or captures the imagination of the public.
Uranus, ruler of the
11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks:
- Sextiled Mars, the chart ruler and co-ruler of the 8th house of lotteries in the 11th house;
- Trined Neptune;
- Sextiled the Vertex date with destiny.
The harmonic Part of
Fortune made no helpful aspects in the Daily Age Harmonic. Its only
close aspects were inconjuncts requiring compromise or adjustment to
the floating Midheaven and Venus, ruler of the 2nd house
of money in the 4th house of home and family. Maybe he,
too, was saved from foreclosure on his house by a timely win.
The North Node was
no help, but Transpluto of payoffs trined Mercury at the Descendant.
Mercury only ruled the 3rd house of communication,
transportation, siblings, neighbors, and immediate environment, and
6th house of employment and health, so maybe those matters
were somehow involved in or affected by the win. Again, we have no
way of knowing. Mercury, however, was a strong planet, being conjunct
an angle.
This was not a very
satisfying delineation, so let’s see what else happened.
There’s a lot to
tackle in the comparison of the Daily Age Harmonic to the natal chart
of Subject F. For the sake of consistency, we’ll begin with
Mercury, the chart ruler. Harmonic Mercury, which we recall
conjuncted the harmonic Descendant, and was of little help there,
occupied the natal 5th house of risk and gambles where its
only close aspect was a sextile to natal Jupiter, which neither ruled
nor occupied a winning house. However, in an aspect of reciprocity,
harmonic Jupiter conjuncted natal Mercury in the 11th
house of plot twists and lucky breaks.
The harmonic chart
seemed to have a lunar theme, and here, we are reminded that the Moon
ruled the natal 2nd house of money for Subject F.
- The harmonic Moon conjuncted its own natal position. Any winning planet (as defined in the introduction) that returns to its own place in nearly any combination of charts contributes to a win.
- In this case, the harmonic Moon is a bit past the trine to natal Venus, ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles, but not so far that it’s out of orb.
- In addition, the Moon opposed natal Uranus, planet of surprises, shocks and sudden changes, ruler of the natal Midheaven.
- Also still within orb of aspect, the Moon trined natal Transpluto in the 2nd house of money.
- The Moon trined / sextiled the nodal axis in the 2nd and 8th money houses.
- It also trined natal Pluto, planet of wealth and transformation, which was only a hair over the 2nd house cusp.
- It made a wide square to natal Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and crowning achievements.
- And finally, it made a sextile to natal Neptune, co-ruler of the natal Midheaven, where Pisces was intercepted.
Venus ruled the 5th house of risks and gambles. Harmonic Venus conjuncted the floating Midheaven, where we recall that it was only four minutes shy of 00 Leo.
- In the natal chart, harmonic Venus conjuncted Transpluto of payoffs, and the North Node in the 2nd house of money.
- Sextiled Neptune, co-ruler of the Midheaven.
- Trined its own natal position in the 10th house of public acknowledgment.
- Sextiled the East Point to attract public attention or capture the imagination.
- Sextiled Uranus, primary ruler of the natal Midheaven, planet of sudden changes.
Saturn ruled the natal 8th house of lotteries. Transiting Saturn was 30 12’ from the natal South Node, so was still in conjunction, and also conjuncted the natal Part of Fortune. However, the square to Mercury, chart ruler, was a bit wide at 50 46’. We may consider it, but not count on it. The trine to Uranus, ruler of the Midheaven, was spot-on, as was the opposition to Pluto, planet of wealth and transformation. Saturn sextiled the natal Moon, ruler of the 2nd house of money. There was a configuration that we may want to consider: Saturn inconjuncted natal Mars, ruler of the 11th house of plot twists, and also natal Chiron of triumphant ascendancy, which sextiled each other, forming a yod, although the orbs of aspect weren’t perfect.
Uranus, ruler of the
Midheaven, opposed natal Mars, ruler of the 11th house of
plot twists and lucky breaks, and trined natal Chiron of triumphant
ascendancy and once-in-a-lifetime events.
Mars ruled the 11th
house of plot twists and lucky breaks. Harmonic Mars:
- Squared natal Uranus, ruler of the natal Midheaven.
- Trined its own natal position.
- Opposed natal Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and crowning achievements.
- Squared the natal Moon, ruler of the 2nd house of money.
The harmonic South
Node:
- Conjuncted the natal Sun in the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks.
- Sextiled Saturn, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries.
- Trined natal Jupiter.
The harmonic North
Node squared natal Venus, ruler of the 5th house of risks
and gambles, and squared natal Neptune, co-ruler of the natal
Midheaven.
The harmonic Part of
Fortune was angular at the Descendant, and sextiled / trined the
natal Midheaven / Nadir axis.
The natal Vertex
date with destiny:
- Squared the natal Part of Fortune.
- Trined natal Mars, ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks.
- Squared natal Pluto, planet of wealth and transformation.
- Sextiled natal Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and rewards.
Oddly, harmonic
Chiron made no close aspects in the natal chart, and harmonic
Transpluto’s only aspect was a sextile to natal Jupiter.
Let’s compare the
winning transits around the Daily Age Harmonic chart for Subject F.
All four angles were well covered, so we’ll begin there.
The transiting
Midheaven, which moves as quickly as the transiting Ascendant, can
also be used as a timer. Here it directed the public’s awareness to
the individual identified by the Ascendant, in this case, Subject F.
It conjuncted the harmonic South Node, our karmic friend, trined
harmonic Pluto, planet of wealth and transformation, ruler of the 8th
house of lotteries, and sextiled harmonic Transpluto of payoffs. It
also opposed harmonic Mercury, whose role in this win is still a
mystery.
At the Midheaven
(and Nadir) the Moon’s Nodes indicated a turning point or marked a
milestone. They sextiled / trined the harmonic Neptune / Jupiter
conjunction in the 1st house of identity. Jupiter didn’t
rule a winning house, which sometimes happens, but its role in
lottery astrology is always clear: it expands everything it aspects,
and brings good fortune. Harmonic Neptune’s role is less clear in
the charts of Subject F because it ruled only the 12th
house. If we translate astrological sentences to English, the
conjunction of these two might say, “I can’t believe (Neptune) my
good luck (Jupiter)! Is this real (Neptune)?” Or it may have
inspired Subject F to buy a lottery ticket in the first place.
Also at the
Midheaven were transiting Neptune and transiting Uranus, ruler of the
11th house of plot twists and changes in fortune, which
brought surprises, shocks and sudden changes to his path in life and
the way others would see him. Both trined harmonic Jupiter on the
cusp of the 2nd house, although Uranus aspected it with a
tighter orb. Both also squared that pesky little Mercury that was
angular at the Descendant, where Neptune’s aspect had a tighter
orb.
Transiting Venus,
ruler of the 2nd house of money, opposed the Ascendant and
conjuncted the Descendant. It squared harmonic Uranus, ruler of the
11th house of plot twists and changes in fortune, and
trined Saturn, ruler of the static Midheaven.
Mars ruled the
Ascendant and co-ruled the 8th house of lotteries.
Transiting Mars conjuncted its co-ruler, Pluto, planet of wealth and
transformation, in the 8th house. Together, they trined
the harmonic Sun, ruler of the 5th house of risks and
gambles, while the transiting Moon ticked it off like the second hand
on a watch. Mars and Pluto also opposed Chiron, of triumphant
ascendancy and rewards, in the 2nd house
of money. Also occupying the 8th house was the transiting
Sun, which made the same aspects as Mars and Pluto, but because it
was a few degrees ahead of them, the Sun also trined the floating
Midheaven and harmonic Venus, ruler of the 2nd house of
money.
Transiting Jupiter
trined harmonic Neptune as well as its own harmonic position at the
cusp of the 2nd house of money. It also squared the
harmonic East Point, which attracts public attention or captures the
imagination of the public, and squared Transpluto of payoffs.
Now let’s sweep the children off the streets.
The transiting Part
of Fortune trined the harmonic Moon in the 8th house of
lotteries and squared harmonic Uranus, ruler of the 11th
house of plot twists and lucky breaks. It was a little past the
harmonic North Node.
The transiting
Vertex date with destiny, traveling with transiting Mercury:
- Conjuncted harmonic Pluto, planet of wealth and transformation.
- Trined the harmonic South Node of karma.
- Opposed harmonic Chiron of triumphant ascendancy and crowning achievements.
- Sextiled harmonic Mercury.
Transiting Chiron,
of triumphant ascendancy and once-in-a-lifetime events, squared
harmonic Neptune, sextiled the harmonic East Point, and squared the
harmonic Vertex date with destiny.
Transiting
Transpluto of payoffs trined the harmonic Part of Fortune and squared
harmonic Chiron in the 2nd house of money.
The transiting South
Node of karma, and the East Point, which attracts public attention or
captures its imagination, conjuncted the harmonic Nadir, which once
again gave emphasis to home and family. Both squared the harmonic
Ascendant / Descendant axis, including Mercury, and sextiled harmonic
Jupiter.
The transiting
Midheaven conjuncted the harmonic Ascendant, and the transiting
Ascendant was separating from a conjunction with harmonic Venus,
ruler of the 2nd house of money.
Are we in agreement
that the aspects between these two charts seem off? In the next
comparison, see what happens to the Daily Age Harmonic when the natal
birth time is adjusted by a mere two minutes.
Here the winning
transits surround the Daily Age Harmonic of Subject F, which was cast
with an adjustment of two minutes to the natal birth time. Two
minutes barely makes a difference in any of his other charts—natal,
progressed, directed, tertiary, solar or lunar returns, new Moons,
nor eclipses. Go back and see them for yourself. The natal
Ascendant remains at 23 Gemini, and the adjustment adds only 39
minutes to it. The natal Midheaven, however, increases from 27
Aquarius 43 to 28 Aquarius 14, a difference of 31 minutes. The
intercepted signs in the 10th and 4th houses
remain. The only noticeable change is that natal Pluto moves from six
minutes over the 3rd house cusp in the original chart,
back into the 2nd house by 24 minutes in the adjusted
chart. Now let’s begin again. Remember we’re working with the
adjusted Daily Age Harmonic with the winning transits, not the natal.
The previous
harmonic chart had 12 Aries 47 on the Ascendant, and of course, every
house of equal size. The adjusted Daily Age Harmonic has 05 Taurus 54
on the Ascendant with equal houses. That makes Venus the chart ruler.
Transiting Venus still squares harmonic Uranus, which now rules the
Midheaven, and it still trines harmonic Saturn, which conjuncts the
Midheaven. It still inconjuncts harmonic Neptune, but the difference
is that Neptune now has a purpose. It conjuncts the Ascendant and
rules the 11th house of plot twists.
Pesky little
harmonic Mercury conjuncted the Descendant in the previous harmonic
chart and received a large number of aspects but wasn’t a winning
planet in any way. In the new chart Mercury rules the 2nd
house of money and the 5th house of risks and gambles. It
still receives the same aspects from the transiting planets – a
square from the East Point, an opposition from the Midheaven, a
sextile from its own transiting position in conjunction with the
Vertex, a trine from Uranus, but most importantly, now when
transiting Neptune trines it by only seven minutes, it means
something because Mercury rules two winning houses, and Neptune now
rules the 11th house, not the 12th! Transiting
Mercury and the Vertex still conjunct harmonic Pluto, but now Pluto
is in the 8th house, not the 9th. They still
trine the harmonic South Node, which did move up into the 12th
house, but now when they oppose harmonic Transpluto, it’s in the
2nd house of money, not the 3rd.
In the previous
chart, transiting Jupiter trined harmonic Neptune, and its own
harmonic position at the cusp of the 2nd house. It also
squared the East Point and Transpluto of payoffs. In the adjusted
chart, it still trines Neptune, as well as its own harmonic
position—but the difference is Neptune is now ruler of the 11th
house, and Jupiter now rules the 8th. It still squares
Transpluto, which has moved from the 3rd house to the 2nd,
but the harmonic East Point has moved, and now conjuncts the harmonic North
Node.
In the previous
chart, Uranus ruled the 11th house, and that was fine. Now
it rules the static Midheaven, and that’s fine, too. Transiting
Uranus conjuncted the static Midheaven, Neptune and the North Node,
trined harmonic Jupiter and squared harmonic Mercury in the previous
chart. All of that was great. It still makes all of those aspects in
the adjusted harmonic—except the conjunction to the Midheaven—but
now Uranus rules the static Midheaven, Neptune rules the 11th
house, Mercury rules the 2nd and 5th houses,
and Jupiter rules the 8th.
In the previous
chart, Neptune conjuncted the static Midheaven, trined harmonic
Jupiter, squared the harmonic South Node and Mercury, and
inconjuncted harmonic Transpluto. It continues to make all those
aspects except the conjunction to the static Midheaven, but now,
Jupiter rules the 8th house, and Mercury rules the 2nd
and 5th houses.
In the previous
chart, the transiting Moon’s Nodes trined harmonic Neptune and
Jupiter, and they still do, but now Neptune and Jupiter rule winning
houses.
Now let’s take
another look at the children on the streets.
Previously, the
transiting Part of Fortune trined the harmonic Moon in the 8th
house and squared the harmonic North Node in the 3rd
house. It still trines the harmonic Moon, but the Moon is now at the
cusp of the 8th house. The Part of Fortune still
squares the harmonic North Node, but the Node is now conjunct the
harmonic East Point. The Part of Fortune may also trine harmonic
Venus, which has moved out of Cancer and is one minute into Leo. The
aspect a little past exact.
Previously, the
transiting Vertex date with destiny conjuncted harmonic Pluto and
trined the harmonic South Node. It still does, only now Pluto is in
the 8th house of lotteries. The harmonic Vertex has moved
all the way to 24 Scorpio where it receives conjunctions from
transiting Mars, Pluto and the Sun. The transiting Moon trines it and
transiting Transpluto squares it.
In the other chart,
transiting Chiron squared the harmonic conjunction of Neptune and
Jupiter, and the Vertex date with destiny. It still squares Neptune
and Jupiter, which now rule winning houses, but the harmonic Vertex
has moved.
Transiting
Transpluto conjuncts the floating Midheaven—which moved from one
minute shy of 28 Cancer 22, to 22 Leo 50—with an orb of seven
minutes. Transpluto also squares the harmonic opposition of Chiron
and the Vertex.
The transiting East
Point still sextiles harmonic Jupiter and squares harmonic Mercury,
but now they rule three of the winning houses—2, 5 and 8.
The transiting
Midheaven still trines harmonic Pluto, now in the 8th
house, conjuncts the harmonic South Node, sextiles harmonic
Transpluto, now in the 2nd house, and opposes harmonic
Mercury, now the ruler of the 2nd house of money and 5th
house of risks and gambles.
The transiting
Ascendant conjuncted harmonic Venus, the chart ruler.
If all the other
charts indicate a win, but the Daily Age Harmonic seems a little off,
adjust the natal birth time by a minute or two and try again. It’s
easy to see how even one or two minutes can make a huge difference.
Charts that are right have a flow to them.

While Harding and Harvey (1) wrote that the 5th harmonic represents knowledge and skill, I still feel that it represents matters related to the 5th house, including risks and gambles. Below is Subject F's 5th Harmonic Chart, with the 5th Harmonic of the Winning Transits surrounding it.
