In the tertiary progressed chart of Subject B, winner of $27 million,
the Moon was the chart ruler, but the only aspect it made was a
separating square to the Ascendant / Descendant axis. However, the
next aspect it would make would be a trine to the East Point
of public notice, followed by a conjunction to Jupiter near the cusp
of the 5th house of risks and gambles, and simultaneously,
a trine to Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and rewards in the 8th house of lotteries. It could be that Subject
B’s birth time is a few minutes off. We'll check her daily age harmonics for that later on.
The Sun ruled the
2nd house of money and resources. It sextiled the tight
conjunction of Transpluto of payoffs with Uranus, ruler of the 8th
house of lotteries. Uranus and Transpluto trined the Prenatal Solar
Eclipse at 10 Sagittarius 09, and the Sun opposed it.
Venus ruled the 5th
house of risks and gambles, and also ruled Taurus, which was
intercepted in the 11th house of plot twists and changes
of fortune. Venus trined Pluto, the ruler of Scorpio which was intercepted in the 5th.
Pluto sextiled and trined the Moon’s Nodes in the 5th
and 11th houses. Also activating the 5th house
of risks and gambles, the North Node conjoined Neptune,
ruler of the Midheaven. The Part of Fortune trined the Midheaven. The
Vertex date with destiny squared Pluto.
Uranus, which has already been noted as having occupied the 2nd house, ruled the 8th house of lotteries. Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and rewards, occupied the 8th, and trined Jupiter (bigger, better, more). Jupiter was the ancient ruler of Pisces on the Midheaven.
Mars, ruler of the
11th house of lucky breaks with Aries on the cusp,
squared Saturn, ruler of the Descendant. Recently one of the nightly
news shows produced a segment about the newest big lottery winner,
and some of the difficulties that arose from winning, such as taxes
(some states have income taxes, some don’t), communication from
people you haven’t so much as thought of in twenty years, and the
ownership of the ticket. The featured winner on that segment, a
woman, included her live-in significant other in the interview and
claim of her winnings. At first, when she spoke of the discovery that
she had won, she said she told him to quit his job because “We
won.” But as she continued to speak of what the realization of
winning was like, she changed the pronoun to “ I won.”
When we see stop-and-go aspects in a chart, or hard aspects involving
the 7th house or ruler of the 7th, maybe there
are difficulties or strains on the relationship due to the win.
There’s also a case of an unhappily married woman who failed to
tell her husband she’d won when she filed for divorce. When he
found out, he sued, and the judge awarded the entire amount to him.
We’re rarely privy to that kind of personal information, but it’s
wise to check the aspects to the 7th and 9th
houses before we claim our prize.
Pluto of wealth,
power and transformation, and Chiron, of rewards, squared
the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 25 Taurus 55, and the Vertex opposed
it.
Now let's compare the tertiaries to the natal chart.
Now let's compare the tertiaries to the natal chart.
In the tertiary progressions of Subject B, Chiron, of triumphant
ascendancy and crowning achievements, conjuncted the natal Ascendant.
It wins! Chiron also squared the natal Moon’s Nodes, symbolizing a
milestone or turning point in the life.
Uranus ruled the
Ascendant. Tertiary Uranus, surprise, surprise,
surprise, was tightly conjunct tertiary Transpluto of
payoffs. When we find their positions in the natal chart, they’re
conjunct natal Transpluto; Uranus ten minutes short of partile,
Transpluto ten minutes past partile to its own natal position. But
they weren’t done yet:
- Both sextiled the natal Moon, ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles occupying the 8th house of lotteries.
- They also trined the natal Midheaven, easing the path in life and garnering public recognition.
- They trined the Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 10 Sagittarius 09.
- They trined natal Saturn at the Midheaven, the ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks.
- They squared Mars, ruler of the 2nd house of money and resources.
Saturn co-ruled the Ascendant. Tertiary Saturn sextiled and trined the natal Ascendant and Descendant axis, sextiled the natal Sun, and trined natal Pluto, planet of wealth.
Neptune was the
third chart ruler because Pisces was intercepted in the 1st
house. Here was another return planet. Neptune was in
exactly the same position that it was in at birth.
- Neptune was retrograde on Subject B’s day of birth, February 17, 1957, Julian Day 2435886.
- On Julian Day 2436030 (subtract the birth Julian date), the 144th day (for a month) of Subject B’s life, Neptune turned to direct motion. This is equivalent to July 11, 1957.
- On Julian Day 2436239 (subtract the birth Julian date), the 353rd day (for a month) of Subject B’s life, Neptune turned retrograde again. This is equivalent to February 5, 1958.
- On Julian Day 2436352 (subtract the birth Julian date), the 466th day (for a month) of Subject B’s life, Neptune returned to the position it held at birth. This is equivalent to May 28, 1958, the day that represents the month in which Subject B won the lottery.
And finally, we come
to Jupiter, the ancient ruler of Pisces, and the final chart
co-ruler, which from the 8th house, made a trine to the
natal Ascendant, and possibly the Sun (by 6° 8’, but retrograde).
Mars ruled the 2nd
house of money and resources. Tertiary Mars trined the North Node and
sextiled the South Node, which created a milestone or turning point
in life.
The Moon ruled the
5th house of risks and gambles. From its tertiary position
in the 8th house, it:
- Sextiled natal Saturn, ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks.
- Trined natal Chiron of triumphant ascendancy and rewards.
- Inconjuncted Mars, ruler of the 2nd house of money and resources.
- Squared the Part of Fortune in the 5th house of risks and gambles.
Saturn ruled the
11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks. We’ve
already gone over its aspects as a chart co-ruler.
The tertiary Moon’s
Nodes were at 0 degrees Taurus and Scorpio, the money signs. The
North Node conjuncted natal Neptune, one of the chart rulers. Both
squared natal Uranus, another chart ruler. It is said that any planet
in the same degree as the Moon’s Nodes is “fated.” The stone in
which that rule is carved is small. It doesn’t elaborate on whether
it jumps charts—Transits to natal? Progressed to natal? Transits to
progressed? Every “rule” in astrology bears testing. We check
“just to see,” and in this case, natal Jupiter, ruler of the
Midheaven, and a chart co-ruler, “just happened” to be in the
same degree.
The tertiary Part of
Fortune and the tertiary Midheaven trined the natal Part of Fortune
in the 5th house of risks and gambles.
The transiting
Ascendant in the 5th house of risks and gambles trined the
East Point of public attention in the 1st house.
The tertiary Vertex
squared the Ascendant / Descendant axis, the natal Sun and Pluto.
The transits to the tertiary chart is below.
The transits to the tertiary chart is below.
With the winning transit chart surrounding the progressed tertiary
progressions of Subject B, we are immediately drawn to the transiting
South Node of the Moon conjunct the Ascendant, and the transiting
Moon conjunct the Midheaven. The Moon was the chart ruler because
Cancer was the rising sign. The milestone Nodes squared the tertiary
Moon in the 4th house, a strong position for the Moon. The
transiting Moon conjuncted tertiary Mars, ruler of the 11th
house of plot twists and lucky breaks, and co-ruler of the 5th
house of risks and gambles, where Scorpio was intercepted.
The Sun ruled the
2nd house of money and resources. The transiting Sun
conjuncted tertiary Saturn, ruler of the Descendant and co-ruler of
the 8th house of lotteries, where it activated that house
from the cusp. The Sun also squared tertiary Mars. It further trined
tertiary Venus, a co-ruler of the 11th house where Taurus
was intercepted, and where it also sat just inside the cusp. Venus also ruled the 5th house of risks and gambles. To
claim that the transiting Sun trined tertiary Pluto, co-ruler of the
5th house where Scorpio was intercepted, might be a
stretch with an orb of eight degrees, but it certainly sextiled
tertiary Jupiter, planet of bigger, better and more, which was
knocking at the door of the 5th house.
Transiting Venus,
ruler of two winning houses—the 5th and the intercepted
11th—trined the tertiary Ascendant. It also squared the
tertiary Uranus / Transpluto conjunction in the 2nd house
of money. Uranus was the primary ruler of the 8th house of
lotteries.
Transiting Uranus
conjuncted the transiting Vertex date with destiny, and transiting
Neptune, ruler of the Midheaven. They all squared the tertiary Moon,
chart ruler. They also trined tertiary Mercury, which occupied the
11th house of lucky breaks.
Let’s take a
closer look at Mercury because it’s more important in this chart
than we expect it to be considering it didn’t rule a winning house.
In the transit chart, Mercury and Jupiter were in mutual
reception. Transiting Jupiter trined tertiary Mercury infusing it
with bigger, better, more. The transiting Midheaven, one of those
timing indicators that declares “you, here, now,”
triggered tertiary Mercury by conjunction. Now activated, transiting
Mercury conjuncted the Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 10 Sagittarius 09,
assisting like a good team player.
Pluto was also a
co-ruler of the 5th house, where Scorpio was intercepted.
Transiting Pluto occupied the 5th house of risks and
gambles, squared tertiary Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and
crowning achievements in the 8th house of lotteries, and
trined tertiary Mars, co-ruler of Scorpio and lord of the 5th
and 11th houses.
Now we come to the
11th house where we already know that Mars and Venus were
co-rulers, and we just covered the aspects of Venus, but we haven’t
examined transiting Mars. Conjunct transiting Mercury, it also
conjuncted the Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 10 Sagittarius 09. Together,
Mars and Mercury
- Opposed the Sun, ruler of the 2nd house of money.
- Trined the Uranus / Transpluto conjunction in the 2nd (recalling that Uranus ruled the 8th of lotteries).
- Sextiled the Moon, chart ruler.
Transiting Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and crowning
achievements, conjuncted the tertiary Uranus / Transpluto conjunction
in the 2nd house of money. The transiting East Point,
which indicated where public attention was focused and why, also
conjuncted them. Uranus was ruler of the 8th house of
lotteries, and Transpluto represented payoffs.
The transiting Ascendant hooked up with transiting Transpluto of
payoffs in the 2nd house of money to:
- Sextile tertiary Jupiter of bigger, better, more.
- Trine tertiary Saturn, co-ruler of the 8th house of lotteries.
- Inconjunct tertiary Mars, co-ruler of the 5th and 11th houses.
Last but not least,
the transiting Part of Fortune conjuncted the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse
at 25 Taurus 55 in the 11th house of plot twists and lucky
breaks, and opposed the tertiary Vertex date with destiny in the 5th
house of risks and gambles.
