Along with so many other winners presented in this book, Subject D’s
win was preceded by a set of eclipses. The Lunar Eclipse that took
place on November 8, 1984, fell into her 6th house, where
it:
- Squared natal Saturn, ruler of the 2nd house of money.
- Squared natal Pluto, planet of wealth and transformation, in the 8th house of lotteries.
- Trined natal Mercury, ruler of the Midheaven at the Midheaven.
The Eclipse Moon
ruled the 8th house of lotteries.
Eclipse Uranus
conjuncted the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 12 Sagittarius 22. It squared natal Venus, ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and changes of fortune. Eclipse Venus opposed natal Uranus and conjuncted the natal East Point, which captures the public’s imagination.
While returning to
conjunct its natal position, the Moon’s North Node also conjuncted
the Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 28 Taurus 42.
Eclipse Mercury and
the Eclipse Midheaven conjuncted the natal Ascendant where they
trined natal Transpluto of payoffs and the natal Part of Fortune in
the 8th house of lotteries.
The Eclipse
Ascendant opposed natal Pluto, planet of wealth and transformation in
the 8th house of lotteries, and natal Saturn, ruler of the
2nd house of money. It made an inconjunct to natal Mars,
ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles in the 8th
house of lotteries. The Eclipse Part of Fortune conjuncted Pluto and
Saturn.
Eclipse Mars, ruler
of the 5th house of risks and gambles which transited through the 2nd house of money, sextiled and trined the
natal Moon’s Nodes, showing that this particular gamble would
become a turning point or milestone in life.
The Eclipse Vertex
date with destiny, one minute shy of 10 Virgo, trined the natal Moon,
ruler of the 8th house of lotteries, and conjuncted the
natal Sun and Venus, ruler of the 11th house of lucky
breaks.
We haven’t been
tracking the outer planets or long-term transits in the New Moon or
Eclipse charts because for the most part, they were in the same
positions they held in the winning transit charts. But watch Jupiter
in the lunation charts of Subject D. In this Lunar Eclipse, which
took place November 8, 1984, the chart ruler, Eclipse Jupiter, was at
10 Capricorn 10, and trined the natal Moon, ruler of the 8th
house of lotteries. Hold that thought; we’ll come back to it soon.
On November 22, 1984, two weeks after the Lunar Eclipse, and exactly
one month before Subject D won the lottery, a Solar Eclipse took
place at 00 Sagittarius 50. It conjuncted the natal Ascendant and
South Node, and trined the natal Part of Fortune and Transpluto of
payoffs in the 8th house of lotteries. Once again, the
Eclipse Moon ruled the 8th house.
Transits to the
Prenatal Eclipses remain the same as they were at the time of the
Lunar Eclipse.
We’re skipping
over the ruler of the 2nd house of money because Saturn is
a long-term transit, and moving on to the ruler of the 5th
house of risks and gambles. Eclipse Mars opposed natal Transpluto of
payoffs, and squared natal Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and rare
opportunities, in the 11th house of plot twists and lucky
breaks.
Ruler of the 11th
house, Eclipse Venus had just entered the 2nd house of
money, where it conjuncted Eclipse Jupiter, the chart ruler. It
trined the natal Moon, ruler of the 8th house of
lotteries. Are you still holding the thought of Jupiter in trine to
the Moon from the Lunar Eclipse of November 8th? Here, two
weeks later, Eclipse Jupiter and Eclipse Venus conjuncted to form a
Grand Trine with the natal Moon and the natal Sun / Venus
conjunction. Eclipse Jupiter’s trine to natal Venus had an orb of
only two minutes. Hold that thought, too.
The Eclipse
Midheaven squared the natal Ascendant / Descendant axis, and trined
natal Chiron, of triumphant ascendancy and rare opportunities.
The Eclipse
Ascendant and Part of Fortune conjuncted natal Uranus, planet of
shocks, surprises and sudden changes.
The Eclipse Vertex
date with destiny squared natal Saturn, ruler of the 2nd
house of money, and sextiled / trined the natal Midheaven / Nadir
axis. It was only 3 degrees shy of conjuncting natal Jupiter, the
chart ruler, and as we’ve seen in so many in these charts, it was
close enough.
Eclipse Mercury,
ruler of the natal Midheaven, conjuncted the natal East Point, which
drew public attention. Then the Eclipse East Point trined Neptune in
the 10th house of public recognition. These are small
transits that are easy to overlook, but contribute a great deal to
the win.
A month passed after the Solar Eclipse. On December 22, 1984, at 6:46
A.M. Eastern Standard Time, a New Moon took place at 00 Capricorn 49.
It was the winter solstice, and an Aries Point. At 9 P.M. the same
day, Subject D won $13 million in the lottery. The New Moon fell into
her 1st house, but made no significant aspects at all to
her natal chart.
Remember that
Mercury is the final dispositor of the natal chart. Transiting
Mercury turned retrograde on December 4, 1984, at 00 Capricorn 44,
and on December 22, it was stationary direct, a stalled hurricane
gathering strength. It would turn direct on Christmas Eve at 14
Sagittarius 32, but on the 22nd, it made a number of
aspects:
- Inconjuncted natal Mars, ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles, occupying the 8th house of lotteries.
- Trined natal Pluto, planet of wealth and transformation, occupying the 8th house of lotteries.
- Trined natal Saturn, ruler of the 2nd house of money, just 56 minutes outside the 8th house of lotteries.
- Squared the natal Sun.
- Squared natal Venus, ruler of the 11th house of plot twists and lucky breaks.
- A conjunction to the Prenatal Lunar Eclipse at 12 Sagittarius 22.
Mars, ruler of the
5th house of risks and gambles, brought a turning point or
milestone through a square to the Moon’s Nodes. It also squared the
Prenatal Solar Eclipse at 28 Taurus 42.
Still holding the
thought about Jupiter? At the Lunar Eclipse, Jupiter trined the natal
Moon, ruler of the 8th house of lotteries. At the Solar
Eclipse, Jupiter trined the Moon, plus the Sun and Venus. In the New
Moon chart on the day of the win, Jupiter trined Mercury, ruler of
the Midheaven and final dispositor of the natal chart, which was
conjunct the Midheaven. Jupiter’s trine to Mercury had an orb of
only two minutes.
In the Solar Eclipse
chart, the Ascendant and Part of Fortune conjuncted natal Uranus. In
the New Moon chart, they opposed it.
In the Solar Eclipse
chart, the Midheaven squared the Ascendant / Descendant axis. In the
New Moon chart, it squared the Vertex date with destiny.
In the Solar Eclipse
chart, the Vertex date with destiny squared natal Saturn. In the New
Moon chart, it conjuncted natal Transpluto of payoffs.
The East Point of
the New Moon chart brought public awareness through an opposition to
natal Mars, ruler of the 5th house of risks and gambles,
and the natal Vertex date with destiny.
